What are the benefits of Massage Therapy?
Massage therapy is hands down (pun intended!) one of the best things you can do for your health! It provides muscular pain & stress relief, increases circulation, detoxifies the body, flushes toxins & boosts immunity via the lymphatic system, improves posture and flexibility, lowers blood pressure, helps with injury rehabilitation, regulates blood sugar levels, balances the energy field of the body and calms the mind! Massage therapy is ancient medicine and in today’s world, the power of human touch is often overlooked.
When should I NOT get a massage?
You should not book a massage if you have a fever, cold or flu. While this seems obvious, often times clients will book a massage when they are feeling run down at the very beginning of one, not realizing that they are in fact not just needing a massage, but they are actually about to be sick. This is the most contagious time to be in close contact, therefore it is imperative to take a moment to analyze how you are feeling and have been feeling during the time leading up to your booking and take proper precautions to protect yourself and your therapist.
If you have been diagnosed with Cancer or any other serious medical condition, please consult your doctor before booking a massage. There is a specific type of massage called “Oncology Massage” that focuses on treating clients healing from Cancer and I can point you in the right direction if this is your need!
If you have open cuts or wounds, skin rashes or nerve pain we can possibly work around the affected areas or we may need to hold off on booking a session until healing has taken place.
What If You Are Pregnant?
At this time I am focusing primarily on Deep Tissue / Swedish / Combo style massage and not Prenatal. If you are in need of this modality please let me know and I can point you in the right direction with a great referral to a therapist who suits your needs!
Must I be completely undressed?
Typically most clients prefer to be completely undressed (undergarmets included) during the session as it is the most comfortable way to receive massage and it is easier to work on certain areas of the body without obstruction. It is however not required and undergarments may be worn as the level of comfort of the client always comes first.
Will I be covered during the session?
Yes, draping is NOT optional. It is a requirement. You will be under a sheet/blanket the entire duration of the massage. Only the area receiving treatment will be exposed and section by section.
What parts of my body will be massaged?
Typically every massage session includes full body treatment. You may request focus on certain areas, however I work on the full body during every session.
Private areas (besides gluteal muscles) will NOT be addressed and gluteal work will be done with draping. No exceptions.
Payments accepted?
Cash, Zelle, Venmo, Cash APP
Gratuity?
When traveling to my location, Gratuity is not necessary, it is included in the upfront cost of the session.
Gratuity is an a generous addition to payment that covers the cost of traveling when performing “In Home” massage as I will be bringing my vehicle & equipment to your location.
